Russia

Russia has a distinctive instant-noodle market dominated almost entirely by a single brand: Doshirak (Доширак), originally a Korean Paldo product manufactured locally in Russia since 1998 and now one of the most recognisable consumer-food brands in the country. "Doshirak" has become a generic word for instant noodles in Russian, comparable to "miojo" in Brazil or "Maggi" in India.

Doshirak's cup and bowl formats — Chicken, Beef, Mushroom, Seafood, Spicy — are the defining products, manufactured domestically at the Ramensky (Moscow Oblast) plant. Big Bon (Mareven Food Central) is the principal local challenger, followed by Rollton and various Maggi and Knorr imports.

Russian instant-noodle consumption is among the highest per-capita in Europe, reflecting both the brand's cultural embeddedness and the wide geographic reach of rail and convenience-store distribution.
