Philippines

The Philippines is a small but distinctively Filipino instant-noodle market dominated by Lucky Me! — the 1989-launched Monde Nissin brand that reaches effectively every Filipino household and was named Kantar Worldpanel's most-chosen consumer brand in the Philippines in 2014 and subsequent years.

The 1991 launch of Lucky Me! Pancit Canton (a dry-pouch stir-fry format modelled on the Filipino celebration dish of the same name) is one of Southeast Asia's most important instant-noodle product launches — effectively pioneering a new format category outside the Japanese yakisoba and Korean jjajang traditions. Pancit Canton is now the Philippines' most widely exported instant noodle, a staple of Filipino diaspora grocery sections worldwide.

Filipino instant flavours include Batchoy (the Iloilo offal soup), Bulalo (beef-shank and marrow), Calamansi and Chilimansi (citrus-chilli), La Paz (regional seafood), and Jjamppong (Korean-inspired). Beyond Lucky Me!, Payless (Nissin Philippines) and Quickchow are smaller local players; Japanese, Korean, and Thai imports have secondary presence.
