France is a small but steadily-growing European instant-noodle market. Nestlé France distributes Maggi across the major retail chains, and Asian imports (Nissin, Mama, Nongshim, Samyang) have built distribution through specialty grocers and hypermarket Asian-food sections.
French consumption has historically been lower than neighbouring European markets reflecting a stronger cooking-from-scratch food culture, but the category has grown notably since the mid-2010s alongside the broader "Asian food" trend in French gastronomy. Paris, Lyon, and Marseille account for the bulk of specialty-brand volume.
Ready-to-eat Asian instant noodles are also now a fixture of French convenience-store and gas-station meal-deal offerings — a shift from a decade ago when such products were restricted to specialty stores.
