Mama

MAMA is the defining Thai instant-noodle brand, launched in 1972 in Bangkok by Thai President Foods PCL. It quickly became ubiquitous enough that "mama" is now used in Thailand as a generic word for instant noodles regardless of brand.

The range is anchored by Tom Yum flavours: the classic "creamy" (nam khon) variant adds coconut/evaporated milk, while the "clear" (nam sai) variant keeps the sour-spicy lemongrass-and-lime profile open. Beyond Tom Yum, Green Curry, Pork, Shrimp, and Pad Thai round out a Thai-first catalogue. The noodle itself is a thin, springy wheat strand engineered to absorb broth quickly in three minutes.

MAMA is distributed across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. It is regularly ranked among the best instant noodles in the world by enthusiast publications — Prima Taste Singapore Laksa and MAMA Tom Yum Shrimp sit near the top of most such lists. The brand is a common anchor product in Thai and Southeast-Asian-themed supermarket aisles worldwide.
